Rafael in Ilheus

Here are some other photos of Rafael's first trip to Ilheus!

Whilst in Ilheus Rafael also had his first time in the swimming pool. Since babies are not allowed to wear suncream until 6 months he was only allowed in the sun around 6:30 until 8:30 (after that the sun gets REALLY hot) and then again in the late afternoon, around 4pm. Every morning we went for a walk along the beach, yes, I know...it is a hard life and then we would come back to the house to enjoy the pool. Here are some photos of Rafael having fun!

Rafael in Ilheus for the first time at Nana and Grandpa's house!

We spent a week in Ilheus, Bahia (Northeast of Brasil) at Nana and Grandpa's house with Uncle Daniel, Daddy (he managed to get some time off work), Great Auntie Barbie, Cousin Emily, Great Nana and Great Nana's friend, Alison!

During this week there were a lot of 'firsts'- let's get going:

Rafael's first time on an aeroplane!

On Tuesday the 13th of October me, Rafael, Great Auntie Barbie and cousin Emily all flew from Rio to Ilheus to meet up with Nana, Grandpa and Great Nana and Alison (great Nana's friend) (Great Nana and Alison has flown from the UK to Salvador and then drove with Nana and Grandpa to Ilheus). This was Rafael's first time getting an aeroplane and so it was very exciting! He was also going to see Nana and Grandpa after a month and meet Great Nana Doreen for the first time!!!

Arrival of Great Auntie Barbie and Cousin Emily

We just had a lovely visit from my Auntie Barbie and my cousin Emily. They came to meet Rafael and have a holiday!! They flew into Rio and then the next day we went to Ilheus in the Northeast of Brasil for a beach holiday!! Lots of photos and stories to tell there!! However, first of all, here are the photos of their arrival!!

Great Auntie Barbie cried when she held me for the first time!! She was very emotional...her very first Great Nephew!!! Ahhhh...love you Great Auntie Barbie!!

My cousin Claudia came to Rio for a quick trip so we met up with her so she could meet Rafael before returning to London!! Here are the photos!! Rafael loved meeting you, Claudinha and can't wait for Gabriel to come and play!

Rafael laughing...

Rafael has been giggling like this for ages but we never had the camera close by to get it on film. On this night he was laughing so much I decided to run for the camera...I managed to get a bit on film but he had already laughed so much that this was near the end!! It is great anyway, though!

Daddy's Birthday

Yesterday was Giulliano's 29th birthday and we surprised him at work with balloons, banners and a cake- Rafael went prepared with his party hat! We even managed to get into the office without Giulliano seeing us!! Not bad, heh!!! In the evening we went out for a pizza with Uncle Daniel. Happy Birthday Daddy...we love you!
